Unfortunately, planning what you want to do for your Mom on Mother’s Day isn’t as easy as listing the reasons why you love her. But fear not! Here are 5 very simple, yet extremely thoughtful ways that you can surprise your Mother this year.

 

Send her to the spa

This may be a no-brainer when it comes to ways to surprise your Mother for Mother’s Day, but it is still a sure bet that she will love it regardless. Ask your Mom to join you for coffee, and surprise her instead with a spa date! Your Mother will love being pampered, and this will allow her to do so guilt-free. The best part is that this way you will be able to join in on the fun!

 

Food delivery service

How many of our Mother’s probably don’t know how to use a third-party delivery service, or that they even exist? Find out what your Mother’s favorite restaurant is, and schedule a time to have dinner with her at home. Use a delivery service like DoorDash or Bitesquad to pick the food up from her favorite restaurant for you, and have it delivered to her home. “Tah-dah!” You have just brought the restaurant to her! Just don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine with you to share during your meal.

 

Donate in her name

Kill two birds with one stone (or help two birds) with this great idea. Does your Mother enjoy nature? Then make a contribution in her name to The Nature Conservatory. Is your Mother big into books? Make a donation to her local library. Perhaps she considers herself a coinsure of fine art. In that case, think about a donation to her favorite art museum. Most of the time, a donation will also grant you additional perks like mentions, memberships, swag, and other VIP goodies that you can pass on to your Mother as well.

 

Handwritten letter

This one is great because it costs little to nothing, and can be used in conjunction with whatever else you have planned for your Mother. In today’s age of texts, social media, and e-mail, your Mother probably hasn’t received a heartfelt handwritten letter in decades! Write about why she means so much to you, share your favorite memories, or just give her an update on how things are going in your life. Your Mother will more than likely shed a few tears of joy from this thoughtful little surprise. Bonus points if you can write it in cursive.

With a little preparation, you can create a fun little experience for your Mother that can last weeks or even months!  Write down all the reasons why your Mother means so much to you on little pieces of stationery and hide them all around her house.
